SATURDAY DECEMBER 18TH- "BATTLE OF THE BEST"

Start times- Again, please show up at CrossFit RED at 9am sharp for weigh in and roster check. Weather permitting, we will gather everyone for a quick trip to Stoker Stadium after roster check OR we will prepare for the first WOD at the gym. The first Heat will start at 10:10. Why weigh? This is for the athletes current and future records and awareness of weight vs. performance ratio. It will not be used to quantify a performance.
Athletes will remain consistent in their heat throughout the day VS. the traditional progression of best athletes going in last heats.

Point system- We will be using a point system for quality control and modifications on exercises. Your end score will be based on all your times combined + all your points combined-used equally as seconds subtracted from your total time. We will make sure you understand this scoring system on competition day.
* Please bring a hydration vessel, any food for fuel, your own product, a change of clothes and layers for change in temperature. See you all there at 9AM SHARP!

  1. Patrick--What heat am I in? Heats 1 or 2 work for me...or the pre-heat 1 heat or the post-heat 4 heat. I'm sure the oversight was an honest one. After all, you DID send me an invite. Oh, I get it, the "studs" were afraid the "Old Guy" would outscore them and convinced you to conveniently leave my name off. Was it Adam (Cops have always had it in for me), Chad (He's afraid I'll ask him to give me the "handshake"), or Weaver (Afraid the student will outperform his sensei)? You know, this is age discrimination, and you'll be hearing from my lawyer.

  2. Based on the comments from yesterday, a penalized rep counts??? WTF!?!? So in the final WOD when an athlete is gassed and can't complete a full ROM HSPU, they simply cheat the ROM and take a 1 second penalty rather than having to rest for 10 seconds to get the rep with full ROM? On DU'd if a person misses a rep they get penalized a point, but the rep counts? Or are there different criteria for the jump rope movements than all the others? It seems like this system is rewarding people for pushing out reps that do not meet standards rather than having to rest and complete the movements the right way. Please tell me I am just confused or misunderstanding things.

  3. Where is Melissa Huff's Name in the Heats?
And yes, Brad, we are ALL scared of you :)
    I too am confused...
I think a missed rep should be just that and the athlete loses the time associated with repeating it...particularly on the Jump Ropes! WOW!
Is there going to be a judges conference prior to the comp, given the importance of quality control and consistency?
K, So, start me at a -15 seconds for the HSPUs and call it a day...just sayin':)
Going to be an interesting day!

  4. Seriously, she can have my place. She deserves it...I'm so nervous I want to puke. And I'm with Celeste. If it's a point off for every miss, and there's only 20 points per exercise, I may as well not even do the jumpropes. I don't stand a chance!
